The objective is to ensure that the outcome of the full proposal is both detailed and creditable with respect to the LIFE-2023-STRAT call and mirrors the aims in the strategy addressed in the application.

Project Coordination

The TA-project will succeed in coordinating and promoting the actions preparing the full proposal, including a preliminary complementary funding plan for ensuring ACWA LIFE projects' objectives and targets. Furthermore, the TA-project will engage and secure the commitment of the partners and key stakeholders to the application as well as gather interest among other stakeholders and actors for the forthcoming project.

Stakeholder Engagement

The ACWA LIFE engages a comprehensive group of main stakeholders in a partnership to jointly work together to achieve the aim of the project: to maintain and reach good status of Finnish streams, lakes, coastal waters, as well as ground waters.

Implementation Strategy

The project's activity is based on the implementation of the eight River Basin District Management Plans pursuant to the Water Framework Directive as strategic documents and the Program of Measures pursuant to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive as a supporting strategy. The plans form a state-of-the-art backbone to reach the objectives and are prepared in broad cooperation with central stakeholders.

Objectives

The objective is to decrease the effects of anthropogenic pressures with a source-to-sea approach, mainly focusing on:

  1. Reducing eutrophication
  2. Addressing physical alterations
  3. Mitigating other hydro morphological changes as targets

Furthermore, the results will be replicated and transferred to after LIFE by a sustainable exploitation of project results.
