Project Objective

The project has for main objective to continue to improve the overall Portuguese capacity for participation and use of the LIFE Programme, by increasing the number and quality of projects that are yearly presented to the Calls for Proposals.

Complementary Targets/Objectives

To attain this goal, the project seeks a set of complementary targets/objectives:

  • Improve and foster good governance, engage external parties, and ensure availability of sound technical knowledge through the promotion of a set of good governance tools, aimed at leveraging support and gathering advice that can help the project team in mitigating problems.

  • Improve broader communication and dissemination that support, embrace, leverage, or improve the impact and outputs of the Programme and its projects.

  • Increase the use of SIPs and SNAPs by Portuguese authorities that are potential eligible applicants for this specific type of LIFE projects, including Internal Capacity Building and Training of NCP.

  • Provide reliable and useful information to potential applicants on how other LIFE projects have dealt with improving policy uptake of their project outputs, from early stages of project design to execution and post-LIFE works.

  • Provide reliable and useful information and opportunities to potential applicants on improving project design concerning replication, transfer, and transnationality, from early stages of project design to project execution and post-LIFE works.

  • Improve contacts between LIFE applicants and potential co-financers that can contribute with complementary co-financing of LIFE projects.

  • Engage potential beneficiaries with LIFE through:

    • A broader dissemination
    • A critical and early discussion of project ideas and their fitness to LIFE
    • Promotion of an enduring “LIFE community,” joining former, new, and potential applicants that can help to prepare partnership projects and consortia
  • Provide applicants with directed support on writing more solid proposals to SAP or CET Calls.
