Introduction
Fern’s SGA for the calendar 2024 (Operating Grant LIFE-2023-NGO-OG-SGA) contains a total of six work packages, spanning various areas of focus.
Work Packages
The six work packages include:
- Organisational development work
- Climate adaptation and mitigation
- Bioenergy – the clean energy transition
- Sustainable consumption
- Sustainable trade
- Illegal logging – sustainable timber
Team and Objectives
Across these work packages, our team of 20 staff (+2 interns) will work to influence over three dozen policies that are key to the LIFE priorities. These priorities include:
- Nature
- Biodiversity
- Circular Economy and Quality of Life
- Clean Energy Transition
- Climate Mitigation and Adaptation
Activities
Activities focus on:
- Policy advice and advocacy
- Facilitating access of NGOs across Europe and beyond to EU policy-making processes
- Research, media, and communications
Office and Resources
Fern has four offices, and our Brussels office contains a Forest Desk which anyone from the NGO forest movement can use to undertake advocacy towards Brussels policymakers.
