Introduction
Fern is unique, focused on the impact of EU policies on forests. We are non-hierarchical, have no director, and make decisions by consensus.
Team and Locations
Our team of 20 has offices in strategic EU locations:
- Belgium (BE)
- Netherlands (NL)
- France (FR)
We have a 30-year track record of working with EU stakeholders.
Objectives and Activities
We facilitate the Forest Movement Europe and other NGO networks to find constructive solutions and agree on civil society strategies to inform EU policies for the benefit of forests.
This work also gives us a good understanding of what is happening on the ground across the EU and increases our sphere of influence beyond our office locations.
Future Priorities
Over the next two years, our priorities are:
- Consolidating advances the European Green Deal brought to forests.
- Focusing on climate and biodiversity.
