Projectdetails

Introduction

CEEweb's Work Plan, proposed under the LIFE NGO Operating Grant scheme for the year 2023, aims to build a framework for CEEweb, in collaboration with its 33 Central and Eastern European member organisations. The goal is to continue its active participation in the EU policy dialogue, as well as to support the implementation and enforcement of the Union’s environmental and climate objectives.

Objectives

We envision achieving our goals along three main objectives, which also constitute our three Work Packages (WPs), in addition to our activities for organisational development. Our proposed activities in 2023 will focus on:

  1. Protecting our natural environment by advocating better policies for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration and calling for an integrated approach to development with improved protected area and water management (WP2).

  2. Advocating sustainable farming practices, nature-based solutions, and policies to protect and restore resilient, biodiverse rural and urban ecosystems for a healthy climate, carbon-rich soils, and sustainable food systems (WP3).

  3. Promoting and advocating governance structures, financial mechanisms, and participatory policy-making methods which ensure prosperity, fairness, and well-being within planetary boundaries (WP4).

Organisational Development

With regard to developing our own organisation and membership, we aim to reinforce CEEweb’s role as an influential regional environmental NGO by:

  • Internal capacity-building
  • Increased visibility
  • Continued fundraising efforts
  • Strengthening and diversifying our membership (WP1)

Unique Themes for 2023

In 2023, CEEweb will continue working on unique themes that are rarely covered by other NGOs, among them:

  • Operationalising resilience in post-COVID recovery plans
  • Protecting and restoring soil biodiversity for healthy ecosystems and sustainable food production
  • Advocating for private investments for biodiversity conservation and climate action
