Leading business towards climate neutrality by speeding up the uptake of energy efficiency measures from the energy audits
AUDIT2MEASURE aims to enhance energy efficiency in the EU industrial sector by developing an engagement strategy to implement energy audit recommendations and overcome adoption barriers.
Projectdetails
Introduction
Industry is a key player in energy consumption and economic impact in the European Union (EU). Energy audits represent an important tool to improve energy efficiency in the sector. Despite both the spread of energy audits and the knowledge of their benefits, the actual implementation rate of the Energy Savings Measures (ESM) proposed by energy audits is relatively low.
Project Aim
The main aim of the AUDIT2MEASURE project (Leading business towards climate neutrality by speeding up the uptake of energy efficiency measures from the energy audits) is to support companies in the uptake of audit measures necessary to reduce energy consumption and support their energy transition.
Engagement Strategy
AUDIT2MEASURE will develop and implement a new engagement strategy called “Audit2Action” to put into action the opportunities emerging from energy audits.
Identifying Barriers
In the first part of the project, barriers to the adoption of energy-saving measures will be identified. Subsequently, solutions to overcome these barriers will be developed by understanding:
- Decision-making processes in companies
- How important energy efficiency is in their organizations
- Possible supporting mechanisms for the implementation of ESM
Capacity Building Program
After identifying barriers, the project will develop a capacity-building program to:
- Motivate professionals of the involved companies towards improving energy efficiency
- Increase their capacity to implement the energy audit outcomes
Implementation and Testing
Finally, the project will assist a series of engaged companies to implement selected measures in the field in order to test the results of the “Audit2Action” strategy.
Knowledge Exchange Space
A Knowledge Exchange Space (KES) will be created to ensure sustainability, replication, and exploitation of results after the end of the project.
Conclusion
AUDIT2MEASURE is characterized by its approach to result in action. It has two main advantages:
- Development of a new methodology for the adoption of energy audits
- Application to improve energy efficiency in the EU’s industrial sector
