A next generation high level sensing system to enable safe and high level automation of industrial vehicles.
Tripleye's COP system enhances autonomous vehicle safety by using advanced camera algorithms to accurately capture 3D spatial data, enabling reliable operation in material handling and earthmoving applications.
Projectdetails
Introduction
The problem with today’s autonomous system architectures is that minimal changes in the camera alignment of less than 1 mm can lead to significant misalignments and invalidate measurements of the surrounding environment. This issue raises major safety concerns in autonomous vehicles.
Solution Overview
Tripleye has invented the COP (Circular Optical Perception) to solve this issue. The COP is a next-generation camera-only computer vision system that uses proprietary algorithms (named KIEV and RubberStereo) together with a fisheye camera to triangulate and capture high-level 3D spatial components needed for advanced automation.
Applications
Specifically, COP offers a revolutionary solution for the safe and efficient operation of:
- Earthmoving
- Material handling
- Automated guided vehicles
Project Goals
During the proposed EIC project, Tripleye will aim to:
- Upgrade its software stacks
- Integrate the system into material handling and earth-moving machines
- Conduct iterative testing in a real working environment
