ClientEarth Germany (gGmbH) Framework Partnership Agreement for Operating Grants

Introduction

This Framework Partnership Agreement for Operating Grants sets out ClientEarth Germany’s 3-year outline action plan for FY 2022, 2023, and 2024, with a focus on Organisational Development and two main programmatic areas: Energy Transition and Agriculture.

Strategic Interventions

We believe the law is the most effective lever for climate action. ClientEarth Germany delivers strategic interventions, including:

1. Negotiation of new legislation
2. Implementation of existing laws in court proceedings

These efforts aim to bring about systemic change in Germany, Europe, and beyond. We will work to ensure better implementation and enforcement of EU environmental law, particularly in the fields of:

• Clean energy transition
• Climate change
• Agriculture

Additionally, we will act as an important conduit between civil society groups and the EU.

Current Position and Future Goals

ClientEarth Germany is already filling a gap in the national and EU legal landscape and is becoming an influential voice in the use of law to protect the environment, with a unique breadth and depth of experience.

We are now at a critical juncture in our organisational development and will seek to strengthen and consolidate our role and presence in the environmental law field. Our goal is to maximize impact in our programmatic areas and drive change at a system-level.
