Projectdetails
Introduction
The objectives of CDP Worldwide (Europe) gGmbH's work program for 2023–24 are to advance EU climate and biodiversity policies, lead the transition to a circular economy, build energy efficiency knowledge, and support the EU's 2030 and 2050 climate commitments and adaptation strategy.
Key Activities
The program will achieve its objectives through the following activities:
-
Direct Engagement: Engage with companies, investors, cities, and regions to encourage them to disclose information about their environmental performance on issues including nature, biodiversity, and planetary boundaries.
-
Investor Support: Support investors by conducting sector and portfolio analyses, assessing a range of environmental indicators across their portfolios, creating exclusion and divestment criteria, informing broker recommendations, and designing new financial products.
-
Data Collection: Conduct surveys through complex questionnaires and collect the latest and most relevant data through our electronic disclosure platform.
-
Scoring Methodology: Refine our scoring methodology to incorporate new features, ensure better comparability of data, implement sound data quality checks, and track progress against a benchmark necessary for a transition to a 1.5ºC, nature-positive world.
-
Data Analysis: Analyze key data points and release scores that rank the disclosing companies and cities according to their performance and commitments.
-
Annual Reports: Publish annual reports with scores and key findings, including European and global trends in disclosure, environmental impacts, and corporate commitments to climate action, as well as sectoral analysis.
-
Dissemination: Disseminate our analyses among investors, companies, policymakers, public sector organizations, government bodies, academics, and the general public.
Target Groups
The three target groups for the initiative include:
- Policymakers and government officials
- Corporates and investors
- Cities and public procurement departments
Cross-Cutting Goals
Cross-cutting goals include reaching out to the media and stakeholders, including NGOs, research institutions, and the public.
