FOIL’ON - developing and producing biodegradable and suitable for compost laminating film called LAM’ON and packaging foil PACK’ON, lowering plastic pollution
LAM’ON LTD develops compostable laminating and packaging films from corn-based PLA, offering a sustainable alternative to plastic with no VOC emissions and compatibility with existing machinery.
Projectdetails
Introduction
LAM’ON LTD is a start-up that disrupts the printing and packaging market with two highly innovative products: a 100% biodegradable laminating film LAM’ON and a packaging foil PACK’ON made from corn.
Product Features
Both products have the full performance capabilities of plastic film but are based on PLA and are therefore compostable. Key features include:
- No recycling needed.
- Complete compatibility with current printing and packing industrial machines for immediate large-scale market entry.
- No changes required to process or equipment.
Production Process
Our recipe allows us to produce high-quality, affordable, and durable clear film on standard polymer extruders.
Environmental Impact
During prototyping, we established that there are no VOC emissions in the production and its life cycle.
Cost Efficiency
We achieved a low price by producing them with one step less than the other solutions on the market, thus saving energy and manpower.
Waste Management
With a granulating machine, we will reuse the waste material from production, which complies with the EU’s “Circular Economy Action.”
