Projectdetails

Introduction

The IP C2C CC has demonstrated that resilient cities can be created in a resilient region through coordinated efforts, broad collaborations, and capacity building among all actors. The IP is close to completion, and the C2C CC leadership has been encouraged nationwide to transfer and develop the lessons learned in a national context.

Project Overview

The C2C TA project will pave the way for a SIP application with a focus on:

  1. The transfer of knowledge
  2. Further development of solutions
  3. Replication of best practices nationally and internationally

SIP Integration

The SIP will supplement the work of the C2C CC IP with issues such as drought and heat. Furthermore, the C2C TA will explore new cross-cutting themes, including:

  • Financing
  • Political ownership

These themes will lay the groundwork for the inclusion of these issues in the SIP.

Stakeholder Engagement

The SIP is expected to work on improved, more innovative, and holistic climate adaptation solutions in broad partnerships that include all relevant stakeholders. The C2C TA project will invite stakeholders to forward their ideas for shared discussions. The SIP will prioritize areas such as:

  • Inclusive planning with a long-term perspective
  • Better designed Nature-Based Solutions (NBS)
  • Solutions with an expected better value for money

Analysis of DK2020 Plans

The C2C TA project will carry out analyses of the so-called DK2020 plans that are to be implemented (fully or partly). As the climate changes, the plans are expected to undergo improvement regarding quality and ambition within the SIP framework of cooperation and co-creation.

Outcome and Future Steps

An outcome of the IP C2C CC is a shared strategy for climate adaptation with several project ideas to be pursued – ranging from loose to concrete ideas ready to implement. The SIP is expected to take up the ideas and form the framework for the most efficient planning, and the C2C TA will set the scene for mapping the best solutions.
