The world faces a biodiversity and climate crisis.

Project Overview

COASTal - Restoration of coastal habitat zones contributes to obtaining a favorable conservation status for 12 habitat types in the coastal zone.

Objectives

This project aims to:

  1. Improve conservation conditions for 9 protected bird species.
  2. Increase biodiversity.
  3. Reestablish natural hydrology, salt meadows, eelgrass, islets, and reefs.

Environmental Impact

The restoration efforts will increase carbon sequestration and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the EU's Fit for 55 initiative.
