Creating socioecological conditions for the expansion of Iberian wolf and Iberian lynx
The project seeks to enhance socioecological conditions for Iberian wolves and lynxes by boosting prey abundance, habitat quality, and community coexistence in a transboundary area.
Projectdetails
Introduction
This project aims to create the necessary socioecological conditions for the Iberian wolf and Iberian lynx in a transboundary area south of the Douro River that both species are starting to recolonize.
Ecological Improvements
Improving ecological conditions will include:
- Increasing the abundance of wild prey
- Improving habitat
Social Improvements
Improving social conditions will include:
- Promoting positive coexistence with rural communities
- Supporting socioeconomic local development
- Increasing capacity and knowledge exchange in the assessment of damage prevention and the detection of environmental crime
