Introduction
Stichting BirdLife Europe (from now on: BirdLife Europe) works with various stakeholders to conserve birds and biodiversity by focusing on species, sites, and habitats; ecological sustainability; and engagement of people.
Coordination of Activities
Stichting BirdLife Europe coordinates the activities of 44 member organisations throughout Europe and Central Asia, including all EU27 countries. BirdLife Europe is the European and Central Asian Division of BirdLife International (UK charity), a worldwide partnership that works to conserve birds, their habitats, and global biodiversity, working with people towards sustainability in the use of natural resources.
Membership and Resources
The BirdLife European and Central Asian Partnership represents over 2,000,000 members, has approximately 3,400 staff, and owns or manages more than 6,000 reserves, covering over 320,000 hectares.
Policy Development
BirdLife Europe takes an active role in the development and implementation of European Union (EU) nature and biodiversity policy and the effective integration of biodiversity protection into other policy areas.
