Projectdetails
Introduction
The overall objective is to ensure a strong and dynamic network of Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MPA) to support effective management and contribute to improving policies at European, Mediterranean, and International levels for better protection of the marine environment.
Network Dynamics
A strong and dynamic network will rely on:

- Well-functioning governance bodies.
- Sufficient and stable financial and human resources.
Actions will be amplified by the strong involvement and leverage of members and the strengthened cooperation with MPA users and other networks of MPA managers.

- Participating in the dissemination of information and good practices.
- Conducting training activities.
- Facilitating group work.
- Improving available data.
Policy Contribution
The network will also contribute to the improvement of European policies relating to MPAs by acting as a channel of transmission between managers, civil society, and the European Commission.
Global Cooperation
Finally, the network will participate in the improvement of MPA management policies at the Mediterranean and global level by:
- Promoting cooperation between EU countries and other countries.
- Cooperating directly with other MPA networks.
