REnovation acceleration by Lowering Entanglements of customer journey Actors in Flanders

Introduction

Energy House Limburg already acts as a successful one-stop shop in the Province of Limburg (BE). Experience shows, however, that owners in complex situations and/or with modest incomes still face too many obstacles to achieve deep and affordable renovation.

Project Objectives

To strengthen the services of Energy House Limburg, the RE-LEAF project aims to shape levers and develop solutions for the following target groups, situations, and bottlenecks:

1. Condominiums:

   • Develop user-friendly tools for the syndic to draw up and manage long-term investment and maintenance plans.
   • By including the needs of credit institutions and insurers, these tools can also help in obtaining the most optimal financing mix for a renovation.

2. Real Estate and Credit Brokers:

   • Cooperate with real estate and credit brokers to better prepare prospective buyers at the start of the customer journey.

3. Low-Income Home Owners:

   • Develop solutions such as renovation through shared ownership for multi and single-family homes to help low-income homeowners without access to credit.

4. Collective Neighbourhood Renovation:

   • Develop, test, and integrate an optimized approach for collective neighbourhood renovation, for example, through benefiting from energy communities and heat networks.

Implementation

The solutions will be tested in 585 pilots and real-life implementation sites.

Expected Outcome

The project is expected to enable Energy House Limburg to deliver a blueprint of best practices for other one-stop shops for home renovation.
