Projectdetails

Introduction

iEPB will upgrade the energy performance of the EU’s building stock by increasing the synchrony between multiple EPB assessments. This includes existing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and other complementary instruments, such as the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) and energy renovation recommendations.

Integration of Assessments

Such integration will be achieved by developing a common data model for EPB Assessments. This model could be further expanded and scaled in the future to enable the integration of additional assessments.

Common Data Model

The developed data model strives to be common and applicable across the EU to increase coherence and harmonisation among Member States. To this end, it will be coordinated with different official and validated EPB Assessment software in various countries.

Added Value

The added value of such an approach for building professionals, product manufacturers, and end-users will be demonstrated in operational ecosystems.

Improvement of EPB Assessments

In parallel, the quality of EPB Assessments themselves will be improved. This will facilitate the implementation of the upcoming EPBD recast provisions, particularly by promoting procedures relying on actual building data and thus tackling existing deficiencies in EPC design and implementation.

Market Support

iEPB is also geared toward supporting the market uptake of EPB Assessments’ instruments, notably EPC and SRI, by fostering the implementation synergies between them and providing added value to key stakeholders.
