Equipping buildings with automated, massive and customized Building Renovation Passports as an effective tool to drive deep renovation
One Click Reno aims to accelerate deep building renovations in the EU by providing customizable Building Renovation Passports through a user-friendly web platform, enhancing energy efficiency and compliance.
Projectdetails
Introduction
The building sector has a crucial role in achieving the target of the EU’s climate neutrality by 2050, being responsible for more than one third of the EU’s energy-related GHG emissions. The upcoming recast of the EPBD is part of a comprehensive policy package to enable action to meet this ambition.
Current Challenges
Despite the existing broad consensus on the relevance of building renovation, the current renovation rate remains at 0.2%.
Project Aim
The aim of One Click Reno is to contribute to the transition towards a zero-emission building stock by accelerating the volume and depth of building renovations in the EU. This will be achieved by making visible and tangible the benefits of deep renovations using Building Renovation Passports (BRPs).
Building Renovation Passports (BRPs)
BRPs are instruments for the stimulation of cost-effective renovation through a long-term staged renovation roadmap for a specific building. They help owners and investors plan the best timing and scope for interventions.
Stakeholder Engagement
OneClickRENO will provide different stakeholders in the renovation value chain with automatically generated and customizable BRPs as an effective and essential tool to drive deep renovation in the EU.
Technical Implementation
This will be provided by means of a GIS-based web environment enabling different existing EPC/energy calculators/energy renovation design tools access to the BRPs generation according to a building's location and a user profile.
User Experience
OCR will provide homeowners with automated, relatable, and easy-to-understand BRPs through simple (one-click) web tools. The coverage and reliability of these tools are based on official schemas, data sources, and user-contributed data, from which theoretical renovation itineraries are offered.
Policy and Professional Impact
The options selected by users will help, in time, policymakers design and follow up on policies. Additionally, energy renovation professionals in charge of EPBD application will receive an already compliant BRP to adapt it and ensure that it fulfills building and/or user potential specificities. This will deliver to their customers a real renovation plan through the same web tool.
